Democracy on the Brink. Historical lessons from the late 1930´s

Aim of the project is to map the social situation in 1930´s Europe, try to understand the historical origins of the ideas and actions that led to rise of authoritarian regimes. This may help to prevent similar historical events in the future.

 About the project:

Common effort of the experts from Prague, Warsaw, Valencia, and Banská Bystrica is to rise the general public´s awareness about social situation and historical events that have led to rise of authoritarian regimes. We focus on the manipulation and propaganda mechanisms in the late 1930´s that helped these regimes as well as various forms of civic resistance against these tendencies.

Our aim is to show the danger of such tendencies for present Europe.
